Chanting the F word is better than gaslighting

By Scott Tibbs, July 18, 2022

As expected, I was falsely accused of "lying" in the comments for my letter to the editor, because I commented on the behavior of the pro-abortion mob that menaced the Women's Care Center a few weeks ago. As usual, when Leftists cannot deal with facts, they engage in gaslighting and try to convince people that actual events never happened. Not only will I not back down, I am going to double down. Here is the relevant quote from the Indiana Daily Student:
Kubehl said that PSL plans to return to the center and pass out flyers throughout the summer. He announced the protest plan — to surround the Women’s Care Center until the employees got off work at 4:30 p.m. — then passed the floor to anyone that wanted to share a message or a personal story.

Protestors shared their reasons for supporting access to abortion. One woman said she had gotten an abortion to better care for her then-two-year-old. That same child, now in her early teens, held up a neon-green sign reading “Hands off my rights.”

Protestors blocked off the parking lot and surrounded the front and back doors, raising picket signs and chanting together.

At 4:30, when protest leaders said Women’s Care Center employees would get off work and leave the building, private security officers pulled up to the back of the center. Police soon arrived.
Yes, there absolutely was a mob. This type of behavior is a threat, and the fact that both private security and police had to be called proves that this was mob behavior. Claiming that it is a "lie" that there was a mob shows the hyperpartisanship that drives people to defend every single thing "their side" does, and falsely attack people who point out obvious facts. This is how a cult operates, folks.

It is also a fact that the pro-abortion mob was trying to steal choice from women. When you are blocking the parking lot and surrounding the doors to the WCC, you are disrupting their services and frightening clients away. You are also potentially scaring away staff and volunteers who will choose their own personal safety over caring for women. The mob's behavior was not pro-choice: It is radically pro-abortion.

One commenter claimed that the people who picket Planned Parenthood are also a "mob." This is utterly absurd. If they surrounded PP, blockaded the parking lot and surrounded the exits when they expected staff to leave, that would be a mob. Peacefully standing on public right of way is not mob activity. The false equivalence shows the hypocrisy of the pro-abortion crowd, as they would be howling with rage if pro-life demonstrators engaged in identical behavior at Planned Parenthood.

The fact of the matter is that no one is being abused or denied choice by the Women's Care Center. Planned Parenthood is right next door, so if women want an abortion they do not have far to go. (At least until abortion is illegal.) The WCC offers support and education for pregnant women. This includes diapers for women who have already had children, as well as free pregnancy testing and ultrasounds. But that is not enough for the pro-abortion mob. The fact that pro-life people have donated time and money to provide an alternative source of support enrages the pro-abortion mob. The attacks on WCC and similar care centers also shows the inherent dishonesty of the claim that pro-life people only care about birth.

I actually have more respect for the people who were chanting the F word at the Fourth of July parade than for the people who reflexively say that anything they dislike is a "lie." At least the people chanting obscenities are honest, instead of pretending that events never happened and gaslighting the people of Bloomington. Accusations of "lying" are no more than childish taunting, especially because the false accusers know that there was never a "lie" in my letter. If they were honest, they would just chant the F word or call me obscene names. They will never be honest enough to do that.
