A shocking abuse of power by Elizabeth Warren

By Scott Tibbs, March 31, 2021

This is an open letter to Senators Todd Young and Mike Braun. See the Tweets here and here.

Senators,

I was stunned when I opened Twitter to find that a sitting U.S. Senator had promised to destroy a private business so they are "not powerful enough to heckle senators with snotty tweets." She actually threatened to use the immense power of the federal government to retaliate against a private business for mild criticism of her. This is a frightening abuse of power that warrants immediate disciplinary action.

Every single person over the age of 13 with an internet connection is powerful enough to heckle U.S. Senators. That is over three hundred million people. Will Senator Warren unleash the federal government on all of us, if we dare criticize her on social media or by other means?

The First Amendment is a critical component of our constitutional Republic. We cannot have sitting U.S. Senators openly threatening retaliation against a private business because she is too thin-skinned to handle someone criticizing her on Twitter. Warren is a radical authoritarian, and a clear and present danger to our liberty. If this offense goes unpunished, it will only encourage more abuses of power.

One can debate whether federal policy against Amazon should be different. But any policy promoted by Senator Warren is permanently and irrevocably tainted by the stink of corruption. She has lost all credibility, and cannot be trusted on any policy dealing with Amazon. For the good of the Senate, and to restore the trust of the American people, Elizabeth Warren should be expelled from the United States Senate and then immediately prosecuted for abuse of power.
