Protect the vulnerable from both COVID-19 and abortion
Printed in the Herald-Times, January 11, 2021
To the Editor:
January 22 will be 48 years since the Supreme Court invented a "right" to abortion, something that never existed in the text of the Constitution. Since that terrible day, well over 60 million babies have been slaughtered by abortion.
What can we do? First, we can vote for pro-life candidates. We should also encourage our local elected officials on the Monroe County Council and the Bloomington City Council to finally stop the politically-motivated subsidies of Planned Parenthood, the modern-day temple of the pagan "god" Molech. The city council even gave a second handout to Planned Parenthood in 2020, giving corporate welfare to a billion-dollar multinational corporation that would have been much more effective going to local charities.
We spent the last year sacrificing for our neighbors in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. We submitted to temporary quarantine orders and wore masks to slow the spread of the virus - policies I supported. But we have continued to leave the unborn behind, allowing the abortion "clinics" to kill unborn babies.
Let us resolve in 2021 that we will protect the most vulnerable among us not only from a virus, but also from the brutal instruments of the abortion industry.
