There is no forgiveness in the Cult of Wokeness

By Scott Tibbs, July 16, 2020

Unlike Christianity, the Cult of Wokeness does not allow forgiveness or repentance. If you have sinned, you will be punished no matter how sincerely you regret what you did. Sometimes, you will be damned by the behavior of others that you condemn! Perhaps it is appropriate that Cult of Wokeness is abbreviated COW, like the Golden Calf the people of Israel worshiped at the foot of Mount Sinai.

Christianity is very different from the COW.
Deuteronomy 24:16

The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, neither shall the children be put to death for the fathers: every man shall be put to death for his own sin.
And...
Ezekiel 18:20

The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.
This, of course, brings me to the Monroe County Commissioners canceling the county's contract with Ken’s Westside Service & Towing. After an employee made a video supporting the killing of George Floyd, the company fired the employee and denounced the video. But that was not enough. Following is a letter I sent to the three county commissioners protesting this immoral decision.

County Commissioners,

I am deeply disappointed in your behavior regarding your contract with Ken's Westside Service & Towing. The employee who made the offensive video was fired and the owner of the company denounced his own son for the comments made on the video. But instead of showing forgiveness and grace, you caved to the mob and punished people who are not only totally innocent of wrongdoing, but actively opposed the controversial video. This vindictiveness is totally uncalled for and calls into question your fitness for office.

Should county government itself be canceled? After all, there have been county employees who have engaged in bad behavior, including felony criminal activity. By the standard KWS&T was held to, county government should be dissolved. The taxpayers should be free of our "contract" with county government.

This is "cancel culture" at its worst. It is one thing to punish the person who made the video. It is something else entirely to punish his father, especially when his father denounced him. Punishing innocents for the behavior of others goes against basic principles of American law. People were rightly horrified when Donald Trump said in 2016 that he would go after the families of terrorists. How are you any different?

As a taxpayer and as an American, I strongly urge you to reverse this unjust, unfair and anti-American decision and re-instate Ken's Westside Service & Towing as a vendor.
